STUDENT DISCIPLINE

Students required to serve detention/suspension must abide by specific guidelines as described in the Student Handbook.

During detention/in school suspension, students may complete work, read approved materials and study quietly. Students who are unprepared to complete an approved assignment during detention/in school suspension will be issued a written assignment.

Any student who is involved in extracurricular activities will not be allowed to play, practice or participate in events during the hours that they are scheduled for detention or suspension.

Failure to comply with these expectations will result in the following:

• Failure to attend or complete a Level I detention will result in a Level II detention.
• Failure to attend or complete a Level II detention will result in an out-of-school suspension for 1-3 days.
• Other misbehaviors during a Level I or Level II detention may result in a student being dismissed from the detention; thus receiving additional disciplinary consequences.

Level I detentions will be held on Tuesdays from 3 PM until 4:30 PM and also on Saturdays from 9AM until 10:30 AM.

Level II detentions will be served as either two Level I on Tuesdays or one Saturday detention from 9 AM until 12 PM.

Please consult the Student Handbook for more information concerning disciplinary action and what constitutes a Level I through Level IV offense.
