Classroom Rules

One of my goals for each student in our class is for them to recognize the importance of self control and responsible behavior. These character traits are crucial for our classsroom to be an effective learning environment as well as very important skills to succeed in life. Throughout the first couple weeks of school we will focus on the importance of following the rules and treating others with respect. During the year, several activities will be incorporated into the curriculum to help reinforce the importance of .

My hope is that together as a team, we can help your child learn to manage their behavior and encourage them to make responsible choices. I will keep you informed of your child's behavior in school by sending a letter home in their planner of any misbehavior that occured during the day or by calling you personally.

Please feel free to contact me anytime about any questions or comments you may have.

Red: STOP! Your behavior is unacceptable.

Yellow: "Time out!" Be very careful of your choices.

Green: Good to GO!

Classroom Rules:

1. Raise your hand.

2. Keep your hands and feet to yourself.

3. Listen and follow directions.

4. Be responsible with all classroom materials.

5. Be kind to one another.

6. Tell the truth.

If Rules are broken (consequences):

1st: A Warning is given

2nd: Five minutes time out/ Note home to parents (Car moves to Yellow)

3rd: Note sent home to parents

4th: Office notification (Car moves to Red)

In addition to a set of rules and consequences, I believe that students should be rewarded when they demonstrate good choices and self control. One of the ways we do this in our class is to have a reward system.

Reward System

1. Good behavior marbles!

2. Students can be “caught doing something good” and receive a fish.

3. Treasure chest!

4. Class choice; extra recess, afternoon at the park, or a movie!
